The Ekol Bug is a compact 5kW multifuel stove with a distinctive retro look.
Its rounded shape and tapered legs make it feel lighter in a room than most small stoves.

A good choice for smaller spaces, cabins and modern interiors where style matters as much as heat.

‘If you’re after a small stove with real character this is it.’

Julian Patrick, site owner and author of The Stovefitter's Manual.

People also frequently mention the large viewing window and the way the Bug fits comfortably into smaller fireplaces without looking plain or boxy.

About Ekol

Stovefitter’s Warehouse first started working with Ekol Stoves back in 2013. Since then, we have found Ekol to be one of the easiest stove companies to deal with.

What these specs mean

External air

External air compatibility means a stove can take combustion air directly from outside, rather than relying only on air from the room. This model is not external air compatible.

12mm hearth

A 12mm hearth suitable stove can usually sit on a thinner decorative hearth, rather than needing a constructional hearth, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.

DEFRA approved

DEFRA approval means the stove can be used to burn wood legally in UK smoke control areas, provided it is installed and used correctly with suitable fuel.

Distance to combustibles

This is the minimum safe gap between the stove and combustible materials such as timber, plasterboard, furniture, shelves, beams or a wooden fireplace surround.

Efficiency

Efficiency shows how much of the fuel’s energy is turned into useful heat for the room. Higher efficiency usually means less heat wasted up the chimney.

Multifuel

A multifuel stove is designed to burn wood and suitable approved solid fuels. Always follow the stove instructions and use the correct fuel for clean, safe burning.
