Saltfire ST-X5 Tall - Brilliant Stove & Excellent Service

This was the second time we've bought from Stovefitters, the first being a good few years ago with a Saltfire ST2 and twin wall flue kit. We had such excellent service back then - and a brilliant little stove that continues to do a super job - that when we needed another stove we had no hesitation in coming back to Stovefitters.

This time round it was for another Saltfire, the ST-X5 Tall with a Dura Flue flexi liner kit, and I have to say that everything about the experience has been exactly what we hoped it would be. The build up to ordering, with advice via webchat helped us select the right stove and kit for our needs and avoid any issues. Ordering was a breeze and the price we paid for the stove gave us even more reason to go with Stovefitters. Delivery was really efficient, on schedule and everything was included, just as ordered, in great shape.

Thanks to all the detailed information on the website the installation was pretty straightforward and the Saltfire ST-X5 Tall has proved to be an excellent choice for our situation. The Dura Flue flexi liner and kit were just the job and the quality really impressed.

A little bit about what we think of the stove:

- super quality construction, which is reassuring with a view to longevity;
- fantastic aesthetics in our tall, narrow fireplace opening;
- spacious firebox with so much scope to control output by varying the fuel load;
- multiple air controls that, once you get used to them, make it easy to adjust and control burn rate and output;
- extremely easy to light;
- very fast heat up and a heat output that belies its nominal 5kW rating, even with small fuel loads;
- comprehensive instructions, especially with regard to the first burn(s) procedure.

Anyway, thanks very much to Stovefitters Warehouse and Saltfire for great stove and kit, and a great experience from start to finish.

Great new stove

Order 19708.
Bought this after looking at many others, and very pleased with our purchase. It replaces an old Jotul which had a solid cast iron door. The new stove throws out more heat and uses less fuel than the old one, and we like being able to see the flames. We have had it alight every day and most nights for the last month and haven’t had to clean the glass. It sometimes blackens a little but clears again with a hot fire.

#18303 - Saltfire ST-X5

We got the Saltfire ST-X5 from Stovefitter’s Warehouse because the website had lots of useful information that helped us choose between the various makes and models. The price was good and ordering was a breeze, with the Stove turning up on the day it was promised and in excellent condition. This stove is VERY heavy, but feels like a solid bit of engineering. They recommend burning the stove in slowly to cure the paint, but it doesn’t take long and after the initial few uses the stove is performing really well. It has a lot of control and we’re very pleased with the purchase and the buying experience.
